A
Strategic Partnership
The Foundation for Healthy Communities seeks strategic
partnerships with other businesses and corporations
to share in the promotion of wellness through health
education and prevention programs. By aligning and investing
resources in hospital wellness programs, you can help
Ohio’s high-reputation hospitals develop effective
initiatives for healthy employees and model them to
other employers. The foundation has the vehicle to reach
230,000 Ohio hospital employees and influence thousands
of other health care consumers.

The Value
of Health
Investing in prevention programs that keep employees
well, investing in effective chronic disease management,
and investing in innovation that will provide better
treatments against disease in the future is essential
to business sustainability. It’s not only logical
for employers to shave or at least hold the line on
rising premiums, it’s also essential for health
care consumers to take greater responsibility for how
they spend health care dollars. Bad health habits are
simply unaffordable!
Your ROI
Through a strategic partnership, the foundation could
support more of these wellness models to influence your
consumers in containing health care costs and provide
education about ways they can take a personal responsibility
for their health care. Who better but our community
hospitals to provide the leadership to make wellness
work?
The Foundation for Healthy Communities is proud of
the role it has played for more than a decade in encouraging
and supporting hospitals to partner with communities
and employers on wellness and health improvement initiatives.
We see the growing need for employers and their workforces
to take more responsibility for wellness through positive
changes in lifestyle.
Invest in
Wellness
Since 2004, the Foundation for Healthy Communities
awarded $170,025 to 10 hospitals for three-year pilot
employee wellness programs that will track clinical
and behavioral effectiveness using health education,
screening programs, individual health risk assessment,
and participant incentives including benefits support.
The institutions are investing nearly $700,000 of their
resources in the success of these Hospitals as the
Healthiest Workplaces in Ohio! grants.
