Dr. David Sabgir
Joins Foundation Board
OHA
Board makes new appointment to 2012 Board of Directors
(COLUMBUS, Ohio)
The
Board of Trustees of the Ohio Hospital Association made the following
new appointment to the Foundation for Healthy Communities’ Board of
Directors for 2012:
David Sabgir, MD,
medical director of cardiac rehabilitation for Mount Carmel Health
System. Dr. Sabgir is a board certified cardiologist, and a renowned
health and wellness expert who loves practicing medicine. He is
recognized by his peers for taking a unique, common sense approach to
health care that resonates with his patients.
Sabgir is the founder, creator,
and drive of Walk
with a Doc, an exceptionally unique, physician-led, free program
that incorporates seven major components of good health. These seven
pillars of fitness, nutrition, education, family, friends, humor, and
charity are combined into a weekend event that few miss. Walk with a Doc
has been nationally featured in U.S. News and World Report, Cooking
Light, XM Radio, the American College of Cardiology’s website,
TheHeart.org, and Walk! Magazine. Walk with a Doc has also been featured
on the local NBC, ABC, and CBS affiliates along with many local radio
stations and print media.
The foundation seeks to assist Ohio hospitals in their health promotion
and wellness efforts by providing resources and networking
opportunities. “I am very excited to be a part of the foundation and its
mission to help hospitals lead Ohioans to better health,” says Sabgir.
“I have focused my career on encouraging people to lead healthier
lifestyles, and serving on this board is a wonderful
opportunity to support personal wellness.”
The foundation board is responsible for governing the work of the
foundation by providing financial oversight and engaging in strategic
planning. For a complete list of directors, visit
