Historically, the foundation has awarded $100,000 a year in grants of up to $25,000 each for projects proposed by member hospitals to improve the health of their communities, consistent with a particular focus such as on reducing obesity. The foundation board has decided to suspend grant-making while the foundation undergoes a strategic planning process to determine its future focus and direction to maximize the value it offers member hospitals.
