administered on behalf of state and federal
agencies.

Hospitals Partner to Fight Obesity at Work
Because rising obesity rates are one of Ohio’s most
pressing health issues, in June 2008 the Ohio
Hospital Association’s Foundation for Healthy
Communities awarded five Ohio hospitals a total of
$100,000 in Hospitals for Healthier Workforces
grants to team up with local schools, fire
departments, manufacturers and nursing homes to
fight obesity in the workplace. Read

Investing in
Children and the Community
The Foundation for Healthy Communities has
awarded nearly $100,000 in grants to help four Ohio
hospitals engage their local communities in long-term
efforts to reduce childhood obesity. Through
Hospitals
for Healthier Children grants, these
hospitals will partner with local school districts,
health departments and other organizations to fight
childhood obesity.
